“There is little evidence of success for foreignINVESTMENTS from private enterprises. In the end, if any country tries to encourageINVESTMENTS to India, most of the programmes will be led by the government itself, with most of the private business sector skeptical about the whole idea,” said China’s state-run Global Times.

Two days after Modi’s official visit to China, an opinion article titled “Economy a dilemma for globe-trotting Modi” stated that though India enjoyed favourable diplomatic climate due to its ideal geographical position; power failures, labour unrest and lack of decent roads and ports for transportation have led to the private business sector being skeptical aboutINVESTINGin India.

Despite the fact that Modi`s government has brought in a series of measures for investors, such as establishing special economic zones, free tax zones and free trade areas, if a country tries to encourage investments in India, most of the programmes would be led by the government itself, it further added.
