Karzai calls on PM Modi


Former Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai on Saturday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his transit halt in Delhi.

Prime Minister Modi expressed that India and Afghanistan share age old ties and India deeply values its friendship with the Afghan people.

“India stands with the people of Afghanistan, as they build a united, stable, democratic and prosperous nation,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi also reassured that India would continue to provide assistance to all the people of Afghanistan based on their need and priority.

The Prime Minister also lauded Karzai’s leadership skills and vision for the extraordinary progress made by Afghanistan in this century and also his contribution that have strengthened relations between the two nations.
