Chelsea humiliate Manchester United 4-0 in English Premier League

Resurgent Chelsea annihilated their visitors from Manchester, now managed by their former boss Jose Mourinho, in a one-sided match that saw them romp home with a remarkable 4-0 victory.

You don’t see this score line particularly when the contest is between the Blues and the Reds from north of England.

This wasn’t a welcome Mourinho expected from his former team during his maiden visit to Stamford Bridge since parting ways with the Blues a year ago to join the rivals Manchester United.

Chelsea players were unrecognisable as they displayed smarter and zestier football, something they were once known for across the Europe.

For the home side, Rodriguez Pedro opened the account within the first minute of the kick off. Defender Gary Cahill increased the lead to 2-0 20 minutes later.

At half time the score stood at 2-0 in favour of the hosts.

Chelsea began their game from where they had left in the second half. Magical Eden Hazard netted a beautiful goal within 17 minutes of the play in the second half before Ngolo Kante secured the victory with his clinical finish eight minutes later.

Tonight’s display was in utter contrast with their dismal showing all throughout the last season, when the team had plunged to a new low causing an automatic elimination from the prestigious Champions League.

Chelsea are now fourth in the league table and have secured a third victory in a row.
