E-portal to help monitor developmental projects in northeast, says minister

A newly-launched e-portal will help in the submission, surveillance and follow-up of developmental projects in the northeast, said a minister in Narendra Modi government on Thursday.

Minister of State for the Development of the Northeastern Region Jitendra Singh said the portal will help monitor projects falling under the ministry’s Non-lapsable Central Pool of Resources.

His comments came after he met the Nagaland Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang.

Singh said the portal has special relevance for the DoNER ministry as it is a region-based ministry and projects are submitted by the eight states of the northeast.

The portal, he said, will also help avoid complaints regarding delays or extraneous considerations like corruption.
