The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief Jagmohan Dalmiya told a leading media group that former captain Sourav Ganguly will be appointed as one of the advisers of the BCCI soon.
According to media reports, the “Little Master” Sachin Tendulkar and Ravi Shastri are also likely to be appointed as BCCI advisers along with Ganguly. They will advice the BCCI on all matters related to cricket.
“I was always clear that cricketing matters should be left completely in the hands of the cricketing legends,” Dalmiya said.
Dalmiya said that he will meet BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur in Kolkata soon and decide accordingly. The final announcement will be made after the meeting. The board wants them to advise on all cricketing matters including the appointment of coach. Ganguly, Tendulkar and Shastri all former India captains have served Indian cricket to the best of their abilities for decades.
Ganguly’s name was doing the rounds as a possible candidate to replace current India team coach Duncan Fletcher. But reports of that are not true post Ganguly’s name being selected for the role of adviser.
