Ronaldo completes sensational move to Juventus in record €112m deal

In what comes as a heartbreak for Real Madrid fans, Cristiano Ronaldo has completed a move to Serie A champions Juventus signing a 4 year contract in deal worth €112 million.

The end of Ronaldo’s nine years of stay at Madrid was announced on Tuesday by Real Madrid, with the Portugal captain explaining in an open letter he wants to start a “new cycle” in his career.

Juventus have now confirmed details of the deal, with Madrid to receive a total of €112m for the record goalscorer in the club’s history.

Ronaldo hit 450 goals for Los Blancos, helping the Madrid club win 4 Champions League titles in the last 5 seasons.

In addition to the €100m base fee, which will be paid over the next 2 years, Juventus said in a statement that a further €12m will be paid in “additional costs”

The man who is tipped to be Madrid’s mainstay now that Portuguese is gone, Gareth Bale, was among those to use social media to bid farewell to the departing superstar.

Bale took to Twitter to write, “An incredible player and a top guy! It has been a pleasure to play alongside you for the last 5 years. Good luck for the future my friend.”

Brazil midfielder Casemiro was another to post a message in support of the 33 year old.

“With you I learned, I enjoyed and I won. Thanks for everything, my friend,” wrote Casemiro.

During his time in Spain’s capital, Ronaldo won a host of trophies, including 2 LaLiga titles, 2 Copa del Rey crowns and 4 Champions League titles.

Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, will now have the chance to win his third different European league title after completing a blockbuster move to Turin.
