Former Supreme Court judge, Justice Katju, on Monday took a potshot at Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, asking the latter why he didn’t resign if he had ‘no powers’ at all.
Taking to his social media pages, Justice Katju, asked why Kejriwal “keep drawing a salary, keep living in an official residence, keep going on an official car, and keep enjoying the perks and allowances of a CM,” if he had nothing to do.
He wrote on his Facebook page, “To those who say that Kejriwal has no powers, and that all powers are with the LG, I have one simple question : if Kejriwal has no powers, why does he not resign?
“If he is nothing, why does he keep drawing a salary, keep living in an official residence, keep going on an official car, and keep enjoying the perks and allowances of a CM?
And why do Ministers and MLAs of AAP keep doing so ? Since they are doing nothing, why are they a financial burden on the Delhi public?”
In one of his tweets, the former Press Council of India chairman said, “Arvind, people r fed up of ur criticizing Modi & LG. Now work for welfare of people of Delhi if u want to be respected.”

The Delhi government of Kejriwal has always been at loggerheads with the LG Najeeb Jung over the dispute involving administrative powers. On Friday the Delhi government moved Supreme Court challenging the High Court’s verdict, which said that Jung was the boss of Delhi.
Kejriwal has often complained that without Delhi being granted full statehood, his government had very little power to work towards the welfare of people in the national capital.
