Textiles Minister Smriti Irani today assumed additional charge of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry after M Venkaiah Naidu resigned following his nomination as NDA’s vice presidential candidate.
“With blessings of PM @narendramodi ji, took Additional Charge of @MIB_India,” she tweeted.

After taking charge, she held meeting with Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Prasar Bharati CEO S S Vempati and other senior officials of the I&B ministry.
Earlier in the day, she also met Naidu.
