Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, on Wednesday released a special video message aimed at maintaining ‘communal harmony’ following the murder of a Muslim man in Uttar Pradesh’s Dadri based on rumours that he ate beef.
In a special video message posted on his twitter page, Kejriwal said, ” A Muslim man was killed in Dadri and police arrested few people from a Hindu family of the same village for their involvement in the murder. Who benefited from this episode? Neither did Hindus benefit nor Muslims. Only a few politicians benefited.”
He said the politicians who took advantage of the communally charged atmosphere were finding the riots as old methods to reap benefits.
“You slaughter a cow, Hindus will be enraged and you kill a pig and Muslims will react. That’s how easy it is for these politicians to cause a riot-like situation. How will this stop? There’s only one way. Hindus and Muslims have to stop listening to these poisonous politicians.Only one person can save this country and that person is aam aadmi. Please save this country,” the Delhi CM added.
Kejriwal too had visited Dadri last week to meet the family of Akhlaq, who was murdered by a mob on Monday last week. Most suspects bar one are relatives of a local BJP leader Sanjay Rana.
