Jan Samvaad to mark 100 days of AAP in Delhi: What to expect?

As the Kejriwal led Delhi government completes 100 days of its governance in Delhi, the party is all set to hold a public rally termed “Jan Samvaad (public discourse)” in the heart of the capital – at Central Park in Connaught Place. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is expected to push for full statehood for Delhi and call for a referendum.
The Delhi CM has received permission to hold the public meeting from the Delhi Police, which reports not to his government but the Centre. Huge traffic snarls are anticipated in the city because of the rally, in which AAP expects over six thousand people.

Delhi government sources say that the entire council of ministers will be present on the stage and giant LED screens have been put up outside the park for easy viewing of the session.

The AAP government has also called a special two-day emergency session tomorrow to discuss what many believe is a constitutional crisis in the making, after the Centre issued a circular backing Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung in a turf war with the Chief Minister.

AAP alleges that the ruling BJP is trying to govern Delhi through the Lieutenant Governor, who acts as the Centre’s representative in the capital and is vested with significant powers as Delhi is a Union Territory and not a full state.
