A woman who had inadvertently crossed into ‪the Indian side‬ via the LoC in Naoshera sector was returned to ‪Pakistan‬ with ‪Ramzan‬ gifts yesterday.

The news was confirmed by the Ministry of Defence Spokesperson Sitanshu Kar on Twitter.

Recently, both India and Pakistan had decided to release fishermen as a goodwill gesture on the occasion of Ramzan

On June 16, Modi had phoned Sharif to wish him on the occasion of Ramzan and stressed the need for having peaceful and friendly bilateral ties.
During his telephonic conversation, PM Modi also conveyed to Sharif, India’s decision to release detained Pakistani fishermen.

“He reiterated to Prime Minister Sharif his message of peaceful, friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries,” said an official release.

Pakistan had recently passed an anti-India resolution after PM Modi’s indirect remarks regarding Pakistan providing shelter to certain terror organizations and failing to curb cross-border terror and infiltration.

Modi’s critical remarks about Pakistan came during his Dhaka visit and in the wake of India’s military action in Myanmar.

India and Pakistan regularly arrest fishermen who venture into unmarked territorial waters of the two countries.
