A woman and a teenage Dalit girl were allegedly raped in Ballia and Deoria districts of Uttar Pradesh, the police today said.
The 14-year-old girl was raped by three persons in a village in Bansdeeh area of Ballia yesterday.
Ajay Paswan, who lives in the same village, took the girl to his home, where he and two others allegedly raped her, they said.
Superintendent of Police Ballia Sujata Singh said an FIR has been registered in connection with the matter and Paswan has been arrested.
In Deoria, a woman (aged around 24) was yesterday abducted by five people and taken to a secluded place in Bhaluani area, where she was allegedly raped.
The woman reached her home this morning and narrated the incident to her family members, who then informed the police.
Additional SP Chiranjiv Nath Sinha said the matter is being probe.
This came a day after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath did not allow journalists to ask questions on deteriorating law and order in the state since his party formed the government.
Adityanath, as reported by Janta Ka Reporter, had held a press conference to talk about the achievement of his government in the first 100 days. However, soon after he spoke for 15 minutes, journalists began to ask him questions on the alarming rise in crime under his government.
But, much to journalists’ surprise, Adityanath walked off with folded hands prompting media personnel to protest loudly.
