Jharkhand Urban Development Minister CP Singh was recently put in his place after he made a desperate attempt to insult an upright journalist, who was merely asking an uncomfortable question to him.
The video of Singh insulting a journalist by asking him to plead to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hire him as his private secretary has gone viral on social media. In the video, Singh is seen losing his cool because the journalist had dared to grill him on the slow progress of Modi’s Swacch Bharat or clean India mission.
This prompted the minister to start hurling insults at the journalist by mocking his poor financial background. The arrogant minister told the journalist disparagingly, “Go, Modi ji will hire you as his PS. He will keep you, go.”
Pat came a quick reply from the journalist, “I haven’t become so unfortunate in my life that I will have to sit next to Mr Modi.”
The BJP minister then went on to make fun of the journalist’s humble background by saying, “you keep wandering around with a bag around your shoulder.”
The journalist replied, “I am content in my life.” The minister said that this was no sign of his content but sheer compulsion.
Meanwhile, Singh’s arrogance has earned him wrath from journalists, most whom slammed him for his arrogance. Journalist Narendra Nath Mishra, who originally posted the video, wrote, “Just see under what kind of condition journalists away from Delhi are having to work?”
pic.twitter.com/oJ2V3XKIgV

Journalist Manak Gupta wrote, “Don’t indulge in arrogance in politics, for one’s destiny continues to change here. Whilst the glass remains the same, the photo continues to change.” Journalist Umashankar Singh took a dig at the minister and said, “One thing is clear that even though the minister is sitting far away from Delhi, he clearly know what kind of journalists does Mr Modi hire as his PS? Will any PS journalists clarify?”
