Next time you fly with checked-in baggage, you ought to watch three videos that Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh shared on his Twitter page.
In the videos, a baggage handler at Phuket airport is seen desperately opening the passengers’ checked in baggage to steal their valuables. In one video, a baggage handler in florescent jacket can be seen individually opening bags seemingly looking for valuables.
Singh wrote, “Our luggage in the flights are safe or not ? Pls see.”

After the video went viral, the 27-year-old man was arrested. He was reportedly employed by a third party baggage handling company.
In a statement, his employer Jetstar said, “Jetstar is aware of a video circulating online and we are taking the matter very seriously. We have launched an immediate investigation and will work with Airports of Thailand, our ground handler BAGS and our local security company to ensure the security of our customers’ property on-board our flights.”
