A 23-year-old woman engineer was shot dead in the parking lot of her residential society in sector 62 here, the police said today.
Anjali Rathore was found dead in the parking lot of Shatabdi Vihar society yesterday morning, they said.
The police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident from residents of the society. They then sent the body for post-mortem.
Rathore, who hailed from Yamunanagar in Haryana, was working for a mobile phone company in sector 63 in Noida.
According to a Times of India report, Rathore was a native of Yamuna Nagar in Haryana. She had started working in June 2016.
Police sources said that the deceased shared the flat with six other girls. She had gone down to the parking area after a man, suspected to be her boyfriend, called her up on her phone.
Arun Kumar Singh, SP City Noida said, “We have talked to the deceased’s flat mates and relatives. Primary investigation suggests that the deceased’s boyfriend could be behind it. We are investigating the matter and the accused will be arrested soon.”
