Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Pravin Togadia has been found in unconscious condition from Ahmedabad, say various media reports. India TV reported that Togadia had been admitted to a Chandarmani Hospital.

Dr Roop Aggarwal, who is treating Togadia at Chandarmani Hospital told India TV that VHP leader was hypoglycemic, that is, his sugar level was low and he was treated accordingly.

The news was also confirmed by a reporter working for ABP’s Gujarati channel.

This was after his supporters on Monday alleged that their leader was missing and that he had been arrested by Rajasthan Police.

The development took place little over a week after Togadia expressed his fear that someone ‘higher -up in BJP’ was orchestrating his arrest.

Raju Patel, the Ahmedabad city VHP General Secretary, was quoted by IANS as saying, “We are pretty sure the Rajasthan Police has arrested our leader. They were in the state searching for Togadia in connection with the murder in Rajasthan that took place 10 years ago. We ask the Gujarat Police to tell us where he is if he has not been arrested.”

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ahmedabad JK Bhatt denied that Togadia had been arrested either by the Gujarat Police or Rajasthan Police.

“We are trying to find his location. He left in an auto around 10:45 this morning from VHP office in the city,” Bhat was quoted by The Hindu.

Togadia reportedly enjoys Z plus security cover but on Monday, Bhat said that he did not take any security guard with him while leaving from the VHP office in an auto along with a bearded man.

Sola Police Station Officer, GS Patel, said, “The Rajasthan Police had a search warrant for Togadia but no arrest was made. If the VHP workers allege that Togadia is missing, then we will look into that matter.”

Last week, Togadia had accused the ‘higher up in the BJP’ of hatching a conspiracy to implicate and jail him in a 1996 murder case by ensuring he did not get the summons issued against him by a court.

This was after the Metropolitan Court cancelled a non-bailable warrant issued against Togadia, the International Working President of the right-wing militant outfit, VHP.

He had said, “The police did not make those summons available to me. I have received information that this was done purposefully by someone higher up, without the intervention of (state) Home Minister or Chief Minister. Just like it happened during the Patidar agitation, when (then Chief Minister) Anandiben Patel said she did not order the lathicharge on agitators, this case is similar.”
