TV reports say that the Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia was snubbed by her party’s top leadership.
Raje arrived in Delhi understandably to meet the BJP chief Amit Shah and the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, but none of them entertained her request for a meeting.
This is being seen as an indication that Raje has spectacularly lost her the support of the BJP top brass in the controversy surrounding her and her MP son Dushyant Singh.
On Friday, Congress party had come all guns blazing against the Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhra Raje Scindia. The party on Friday had released a copy of Raje’s election affidavit which appears to suggest that Raje owned 3280 shares in Niyant Heritage Hotels jointly owned by Lalit Modi and her son Dushyant Singh.
Publicly, the BJP has been defending Raje arguing that she had not done anything wrong. Analysts say that the BJP’s reluctance to sack her may be due to fear that this development may adversely affect their chances in the forthcoming Bihar elections.
