Police in Gurgaon have arrested a man for raping his 3-year-old daughter before booking him under POCSO Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
According to police, the man had raped his little daughter on the night of 28 October after he had a fight with his wife. Following the quarrel, the wife had left the house and gone to her relatives with her one-year-old child. She, however, left her 3-year-old daughter.
After the wife left, the man who was under the influence of alcohol, allegedly raped his daughter. The matter came to light when the wife returned home the following day at around 10 am. She found her daughter lying unconscious with her bed-sheet stained with blood.
“The girl was taken to a hospital. Doctors of the hospital confirmed sexual assault after medical checkup. The survivor’s condition was critical and hence, she was referred to Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital,” news agency PTI quoted a local police officer, Shamsher Singh.
The man was arrested on Friday. He is a resident of Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh and had fled home after committing the heinous crime.
In September, police Uttar Pradesh’s Noida had arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly raping his teenage daughter for three years and repeatedly assaulting her physically.
