More details have emerged on the suicide of a young girl at Noida’s posh GIP Mall on Saturday. A girl, believed to be in her 20s, on Saturday had committed suicide by jumping off the top floor of the Mall. The incident reportedly took place around noon on Saturday.
Cops were quick to arrive at the suicide spot as her body was taken to Kailash Hospital, where she reportedly died.
Dressed in pink T-shirt and black trouser, her body was lying in the pool of blood inside the mall. A shop owner in the mall said that he heard a loud noise. “When we came out, we saw the girl lying in a pool of blood. It seems she died immediately after falling on the ground floor. We then called the police, who arrived in no time.”
The station in-charge of Sector 39 police station, A Dikshit, told Janta Ka Reporter that the girl had left a suicide note. “She wrote in her note that her boyfriend wasn’t speaking to her. This had caused depression to her.”
The deceased has been identified as Shivani. Another shop owner at the Mall said that she had sat outside the Reliance digital store for quite a long time before she jumped. She looked confused and kept walking back and forth.
Some media reports said that the girl was from Alabpur village in Aligarh and had come to the mall with two boys. The cops are now going through CCTV footage to find more leads in the case. People at the mall are also being accused of not taking the injured girl to the hospital in time since some reports said that she had not died instantly.
GIP Mall, which is often described as the biggest shopping complex in the whole of north India, is situated in Sector 38 of Noida, adjacent to Delhi.
Only last week, 11 members of a family had shockingly committed a mass suicide by blindfolding and gagging themselves before hanging from the ceiling in Delhi’s Burari area.
