‘People should decide who deserves credit for AIIMS’, Says UP CM

Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of an AIIMS at Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav took to Twitter to remind the people that it was the Samajwadi Party (SP) that provided the land for the project for free. “At Gorakhpur, where land for AIIMS given free of cost.

Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav along with Governor Ram Naik and minister Brahma Shankar Tripathi on Friday reached Gorakhpur Airport to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While interacting with reporters, Akhilesh said, “The state government provided the land for AIIMS at two places in Gorakhpur. The land is expensive but we provided it for free. It is up to the people of the state to decide who deserves credit for AIIMS.”

Meanwhile several hoardings were seen in city thanking UP CM for providing the free land for AIIMS. Earlier in the day, Modi gave credit for AIIMS and revival of fertiliser plants to the people of Uttar Pradesh.

  1. What does the claim that “The land at Gorakhpur and at Raibareli was given free of cost by UP ” for AIIMS by Akhilesh mean? He should realize that the land belongs to the people of UP and it was given for their health cause.
