In a shocking development last week, a barber, suffering from mouth cancer, killed his wife after she allegedly refused to have sex with him.
The cops arrested the 40-year-old Ajay, who’s also known as Mahesh, on Sunday. The incident reportedly took place in Noida’s Chhijarsi village on 11 July.
Sub-inspector Sanat Kumar Mishra, in-charge of Chhijarsi police outpost, Noida Phase 3, was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, “Ajay had been absconding since July 11 after his wife’s murder. In his interrogation, he told us that his wife refused to have sex with him due to his medical condition. A fight ensued which resulted in Ajay using a knife to slit her throat. The murder was discovered by the victim’s brother Rahul Kumar, who was present in the house at the time of the incident.”
The wife refused to engage in sexual act with Ajay because his mouth cancer has left a hole in his cheek, said the police. Ajay, according to other media reports, has reportedly told the police that he became suspicious of his wife’s character after she started maintaining a distance from him. The accused said that his wife had started speaking to other men, making him suspect that she was having an extramarital relationship.
Although, he’s been sent to judicial custody, local cops said that Ajay’s medical condition may allow him to get bail since he was at the last stage of his cancer and Luksar jail did not have facilities for cancer patients.
Meanwhile, the cops have recovered the knife used to kill his wife.
Ajay’s wife Mamata hailed from Jalaun, while he came from Lalitpur district. They were married for 17 years. The couple have a 16-year-old girl and an 8-year-old son. The deceased had moved to her brother’s house in order to find a job for herself.
