Uttar Pradesh police launches probe after BJP workers click selfies in Kiren Rijiju’s helicopter


A high level inquiry has been ordered in Uttar Pradesh aftet pictures of BJP workers inside the helicopter which carried Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and Anant Geete in in Sambhal went viral on social media.

“I have ordered a probe into the matter. People getting inside the helicopter and taking pictures is a serious matter,” Sambhal SP Sabharaj Yadav was quoted by PTI.

On 5 June, Kiren Rijiju and Anant Geete had arrived in Sambhal in an helicopter and when they left for a programme, the party workers entered the helipad and took pictures that went viral on social media.

At the time of their arrival, entry was denied by the police but as soon as the ministers left, policemen reportedly left the helipad too.

Police has viewed the incident as a major security breach given that Rijiju is a junior home minister of India.
