UPSC Civil Services examination 2016 results were announced on Wednesday. Nandini KR has topped the examination.
According to a PTI report, she had taken the exam last year. As many as 1,099 candidates have been recommended for various government services. There are 220 other candidates in the waiting list.
The civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC annually in three stages—preliminary, main and interview—to select officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.
Three more female candidates found their place in top ten. They are Saumya Pandey (4th rank) and Shweta Chauhan (7th rank) are other candidates, reported NDTV.
Reacting to her achievement, a volleyball enthusiast Nandini said, “I always wanted to be an IAS officer.”
In 2015, Tina Dabi of Delhi had topped the examination. She had later gone on to be in a relationship with the 2nd ranked officer from Jammu and Kashmir, Aamir Athar Khan.
