Police in India’s national capital Delhi say that an elderly couple and their domestic help were found murdered by unidentified persons in their Vasant Vihar. Their bodies were discovered on Sunday morning. This is the second triple murder to stun people of Delhi in as many days.
A report by The Hindu said that the deceased had been identified as 80-year-old Vishnu Mathur, his 75-year-old wife Shashi Mathur and their domestic help Khushbu, who was 24 years of age. Their killers had slit their throats.
The elderly couple were retired government officials. Their son had died a few years ago, while their daughter is married and lives with her in-laws in Delhi. Their maid Khushbu lived with them permanently.
The police were alerted about the murder at 8.40 am on Sunday. They have reached the spot and launched an investigation into the triple murder. Devendra Arya, DCP South West was quoted by ANI as saying, “Prima facie it seems nothing has been looted and it looks like it was a friendly entry into the house. Bodies have been sent for post mortem. The probe is on.”
