Three civilians killed, 10 injured after ceasefire violations by Pakistan on India’s Independence Day

Three civilians have died and 10 injured after Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations at the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.

Today’s incidents happened in Balakote, Mandi, Krishna Ghati and Sujanya sectors of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.

Today’s ceasefire violations took place hours after Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif, wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on India’s Independence Day and called for an improved relations between the two countries.

The National Security Advisers from India and Pakistan are meeting in Delhi on August 23. Indian side has already made it clear that the issue of terror will dominate the talks when Sartakj Aziz and Ajit Doval in Delhi.

India has witnessed as may as 28 ceasefire violation at the LoC  in just one week taking the total number of ceasefire violations to 32 for August. The two countries also did not exchange sweets along the Attari border either on 14 August (Pakistan’s Independence Day) or today, as has been the tradition.

Not too long ago, Indian forces had captured a Pakistani terrorist, Naveed, alive after an an ambush on a BSF convoy in which two soldiers and another terrorist was killed.
