Three army jawans killed during foiling infiltration bid along LoC in Tangdar sector of Kupwara.

One militant has also been killed so far. Operation still in progress.

Our correspondent in Srinagar says an army JCO has also been injured. Army has recovered one AK-47 and one pistol from the spot.

According to an army press release, around six to seven ‘heavily armed infiltrators’ were trying to sneak into Kashmir. These infiltrators then began firing indiscriminately resulting into the exchange of fire

INFILTRATION BID FOILED IN TANGDHAR

A patrol of a forward Battalion led by a JCO, moving close to the LC in the area of Tangdhar intercepted an infiltrating group of terrorists. In the heavy exchange of fire that followed, the infiltrating group was beaten back leaving behind one dead terrorist from whom one AK-47, one Pistol and other administrative items were recovered. During the firefight, four jawan sustained injuries of which three succumbed and one is out of danger. As per last reports, the operation is still in progress.
