Theft inside Rajasthan secretariat, temple donation box with cash stolen

A donation box containing around Rs 15000-20,000 was stolen from inside the premises of highly secured Rajasthan Secretariat on Tuesday.

According to authorities, the donation box was kept at a Shiv Mandir inside the government’s secretariat campus in Jaipur ad the theft happened despite the campus being guarded by at least by 50 security personnel.

The FIR filed by a clerk at a secretariat library, said that an employee noticed the theft when the secretariat opened on Tuesday after a long vacation due to Christmas and Barawafat.

Police, who have now begun the investigation, said that the employees found lock of the library broken and that of the box smashed addding that there was no CCTV camera near the temple.

The donation box was kept inside the library just before the vacations started.
