India create history, win first bilateral ODI series in South Africa


Team India on Tuesday created a history when they beat South Africa in the fifth One Day International match by 73 runs. Tuesday’s victory meant that India has now taken an unassailable 4-1 lead with just one more to play.

This is India’s first bilateral ODI series win in South Africa.

Batting first India had scored 274 in 50 overs for the loss of seven wickets with Rohit Sharma scoring a brilliant century (115 off 126 balls). This is his 17th ODI century.

Despite the home advantage, South African players simply surrendered to Indian bowling and were all out for 201 in 42.1 overs. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the Indian bowler as he finished his quota of 10 overs 4 for 57.
