Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas on Monday said in a conference that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj should clarify her actions to the country, referring to the recent controversy about the said minister’s involvement in the Lalit Modi escape debacle.
Vishwas reportedly said, “(We are) not demanding the foreign minister’s resignation but we want Sushma Swaraj to clarify her actions to the country.” He further added, “If Sushma Swaraj took decision in a personal capacity she should say so, or clarify who else is involved.”
Taking a dig at Swaraj’s statement that she helped Modi on ‘humanitarian grounds’, Vishwas said, “They (BJP) should let us know about all such humanitarian action taken by them.”
The debate over whether Sushma Swaraj should resign because of her role in helping Lalit Modi, an absconder and wanted in money laundering cases has stirred a complete new controversy.
