A step taken by the Indian external affairs minister, Sushma Swaraj, on Tuesday has earned her plenty of plaudits with many paying glowing tributes to her hands on approach in extending the much-needed help to those who need the most.
On Tuesday morning a user shared a video on Swaraj’s twitter page, where someone called Akash, was seen making a desperate plea from Saudi Arabia asking for the urgent intervention of foreign minister and the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
According to Akash, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, he had gone to Saudi Arabia hoping to work there as a mechanic. At least that’s what he was promised by the agent, he said in the video.
But, after arriving there, he realised he had to work in a construction site with his job entailing lifting bricks and loading them on trucks.
Akash said that he had not been paid since he arrived little over two months ago. He also complained of being ill-treated by his employers, who deprived him of food and accommodation.
He thanked his friends for looking after after him all throughout his stay there.
Upon receiving the message, Swaraj tweeted;
Akash- Maine ye video dekh liya hai.Tumari poori madad ki jayegi.Maine Saudi Arab mein apni Embassy ko bol diya hai. https://t.co/NA6lVyW4xD

Hope, Swaraj’s intervention helps end the misery of Akash, but her decision to promptly respond to an NRI in distress is widely being appreciated particularly by social media users.
