Surat’s triple murder has exposed lawlessness in Gujarat: Congress

Launching a stinging counter at the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress party on Sunday corned the Gujarat chief minister, Anandiben Patel, over triple murder in Surat by saying that the incident had exposed “total lawlessness” in the state.

Senior party leader from Gujarat, Ahmed Patel, was by news agency ANI as saying, “Surat triple murder once again highlights the terrible law &order situation in Gujarat. Under package of Gujarat Model lies total lawlessness,” Patel said in a tweet.

Gujarat’s Surat city was rocked by triple murder on Saturday when the murder victims also included the VHP general secretary Pravin Togadia’s cousin, who were hacked to death after being attacked by six youths with sharp weapons in a builder’s office at Varachha.

While one of the victims was identified as Bharat Togadia, others were described to be Balu Hirani and Ashok Patel.

Togadia and Hirani died on the spot while Ashok and Mahesh were shifted to hospital.
