BJP MP Subramanian Swamy has now trained his guns at the Delhi Lieutenant Governor, Najeeb Jung, accusing him of taking instructions from the senior Congress leader, Ahmad Patel.
In a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee, according to PTI, Swamy said that he had information to suggest that Jung was playing a “mischievous role” in “abetting” Kejriwal at the behest of Congress to embarrass BJP.
He said, “He (Jung) has no work other than making rounds of Ahmed Patel’s place. He (Jung) should have spoken out for MPs like Girri and he should have ordered Kejriwal to provide documents or apologise.”
Swamy also accused Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of breaching constitutional norms in running the Delhi government and sought the President’s intervention, saying there appears to be a complete breakdown of governance.
In his letter, Swamy specifically referred to Kejriwal’s allegations that BJP’s East Delhi MP Maheish Girri was linked to murder of an NDMC official, terming the charges as “scurrilous and undocumented.”
Swamy’s ire against Jung was because the latter had not recommended the dismissal of Delhi’s AAP government to the President.
According to the BJP MP, Jung should have categorically told Kejriwal that if he did not substantiate his allegations against Girri or apologise, then he would recommend to the Centre dismissal of the AAP government.
Swamy on Monday had said that his next target was Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal now that ‘Rajan is gone.’
Swamy had joined his party colleague Maheish Girri in a hunger strike outside Kejriwal’s home in Delhi, where he said that ‘after Raghuram Rajan’ he will now focus on exposing the city Chief Minister.
“All his life he (Kejriwal) has done fraud. He says he was a meritorious student in IIT but I have records of how he got his admission…which I will reveal in a press conference. Till now I was Rajan ke peechhe (was going after Raghuram Rajan) and he is now gone,” Swamy was quoted by NDTV.
Girri is protesting against Kejriwal asking him to apologise for accusing him of a role in the recent murder of MM Khan, an official of the civic body New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).
