Police in Bihar have arrested seven people for allegedly kidnapping four college students and forcing them to indulge in unnatural sexual acts with each other. Cops in Begusarai swung into action after the video of the students being tortured and sexually assaulted went viral on social media.
Those arrested have been identified as Golu Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Raja Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Ganesh Kumar and Rahul Kumar.
According to Town Police Station SHO Trilok Kumar Mishra, the victim students were the inmates of a Kushwaha hostel in Begusarai under Pokhariya Police Station. They were kidnapped on Wednesday by a group of people from Kali Asthan Chowk.
The kidnappers, according to a report by news agency PTI, allegedly took the students behind Begusarai divisional jail before disrobing and forcing them to indulge in unnatural sexual acts with each other. The kidnappers even shot at the toes of the victims, who are all colleged students in the age group of 18-21. The kidnapped students were also made to drink alcohol. Their torture reportedly continued all through the day.
The kidnappers were reportedly upset that one of the hostel inmates had refused to buy water from a plant owned by one of the accused. The video surfaced on social media on Saturday, forcing the cops to move in swiftly to take action against the criminals.
The water plant in question is owned by Golu Kumar, who was arrested on Thursday. The remaining six were caught on Saturday. The victims are currently receiving treatment at Begusarai’s Sadar Hospital and their condition is said to be stable.
