Social worker Farhat Naqvi, who works for Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi’s sister, has filed a police complaint alleging that an unknown person in a car eve-teased and threatened her in Bareily in Uttar Pradesh.
She was was on her way to Butler Plaza from the family counselling centre in an auto, reported news agency ANI.
In her complaint, Farhat said that a man standing near the auto stand began passing lewd comments after she reached there to catch the public transport. She initially ignored those inappropriate gestures but got worried when the man started stalking her in his car.
On several occasions, her stalker tried to block her auto while allegedly threatening her. The man drove away after she called for help near Butler Plaza.
Cops have searched several CCTV cameras in a bid to identify the culprits but haven’t been successful so far.
Farhat said that her work entailed counselling divorced women and she had received several threats even in the past from people who allegedly wanted her to stop working with divorced women.
