Yamuna Expressway victim’s family accuses UP police of protecting Smriti Irani

The son of the victim, who was allegedly killed by a car belonging to the Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani’s cavalcade on Yamuna Expressway, has accused the UP police of biases while pursing his case.

Abhishek Nagar told news agency ANI, “We were not shown car which caused accident, no. of car was given by police. Police also objected when we mentioned in the FIR that accident was caused by a car in Smriti Irani’s convoy.”

Abhishek also said that his family had written written letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee, Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Akhilesh Yadav, UP Governor and District Magistrate.

In his letter, Abhishek accused the police of forcing the family to provide wrong registration number of the car.
