Sisodia’s comments on Kejriwal as Punjab CM create social media backlash

Delhi deputy chief minister, Manish Sisodia, on Tuesday created a controversy of sorts by announcing that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will become Punjab’s chief minister.

Addressing a rally in Punjab’s Mohali, Sisodia said, “This brother was just asking me who will become Punjab’s chief minister (should Aam Aadmi Party win the election). Let me tell you one thing. You must vote thinking Arvind Kejriwal will become Punjab’s chief minister.”

Later while speaking to the media as well, he did not deny his comments made during a rally in Mohali.

He said, ‘Let the time come. All I can tell you is that the new chief minister of Punjab will be an aam aadmi.”

This evoked instant reactions from social media users and in no time the topic became a a subject of intense conversations on the microblogging site, Twitter.

Here are some of the early reactions;

And there were reactions on Facebook too where both the supporters and critics of Kejriwal battled to prove their point. Many AAP supporters felt that that Sisodia’s comments did not mean that Kejriwal will become Punjab’s chief minister.

Here are some of the comments from Facebook users;

Praveen Choudhary: M sisodia told, Let anyone be Punjab’s CM, it will be ArvindKejriwal ‘s Responsibility that all Poll Promises are Fulfilled in Punjab.

Parameswaran Krishnan: They are twisting manish statement. Manish said vote as if kejriwal is your CM. There is lot of difference in saying CM face and asking vote as if he is CM. In that case,Modi also went to Bihar seeking votes on his name. He is also touring states where a cm face is not disclosed soliciting votes on his name. Modi media has already started their work.

Aditya Maheshwari: So misleading title.. had I not read complete article, I would have started started hating AK

Sumit Sharma: Hahaha kya kya post krte ho… Statements ko todna or usse apni marzi se banana aajkal media ka kaam ban gya ha…
