Shocking : Ukraine Ambassador’s phone snatched and stolen from Red Fort


Ukrainian ambassador to India, Igor Polikha wrote to Ministry of Home Affairs and Commissioner of Police, Delhi, after his phone was snatched while clicking photos near Red Fort, news agency ANI reported.

According to the report, Polikha was clicking images of the monument from Anguri Bagh Temple when the theft took place on September 20. The report further states, a young man snatched the phone and fled from the scene.

The Ambassador was all by himself. While his security personnel were reportedly not present with him at the time of the theft, his driver was apparently waiting by the car. Polikha tried his best to run after the snatcher but was unsuccessful in catching him.

A case has been registered by Delhi Police at the Lal Quila Police station. The police are trying to identify the culprit based on CCTV footage from the area. Currently, the police has questioned at least 100 youths over the incident, as reported.

  1. This is not so strange. When police start letting lose of petty criminals for the crime against common man.. the criminals go bigger and starts biting biggies and VIPs.. That’s what has happened here. Having lost almost 4 phones in 2 years including 1 in Delhi.. Written FIRs for all them but never heard back from Police. Phone chors have gone bigger and now become a monster, no surprise that now police will find it difficult to tame this monster. .
