Actor and TV host Shekhar Suman has said that he may quit social media after nude and objectionable photos were posted on his Facebook page. The actor claimed that his account was hacked and he’ll be filing a complaint with the cyber cell of the Mumbai Police.
“I am highly disappointed about the whole episode of my Facebook account hacking. Though I am not too active on Facebook, in the evening, I started getting calls from some friends mentioning how someone must have hacked my account and posting some nude pictures and objectionable material on my wall,” Shekhar told news agency IANS.
On his intention to quit social media platforms, the actor said, “Earlier also I thought about it, but my friends and fans told me not to do so because it is a nice way to stay connected with my fans. But after this incident I think I might just do that because it is about my reputation.”
Shekhar was last seen in Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Bhoomi’. In 2014, he had also directed a film titled ‘Heartless’ with his son Adhyayan in the lead role.
In October last year, Shekhar had hit out at the BJP spokesperson, now the party’s Rajya Sabha MP, for his remarks branding Bollywood actors people with low IQ. He had said, “That’s an idiotic statement to make…Then why did you allow somebody like Smriti Irani or Shatrughan Sinha or Vinod Khanna or Dharmendra or Hema Malini or anybody to join the BJP and canvass for you or campaign for you? Why do you them and why do they become cabinet ministers and hold positions of powers like Smriti Irani is the Information and Broadcasting Minister. Is Mr Narasimha Rao trying to say that she has no IQ?”
