Union minister for external affairs, Sushma Swaraj, on Wednesday said that a senior Congress leader had once pressed her to issue a diplomatic passport.
She made what many would call it a sensational claim on her social media page, “A senior Congress leader was pressing me hard to give diplomatic passport to the Coal Scam accused Santosh Bagrodia.”

Earlier, she had tweeted adding that she would disclose the name of that Congress leader in the parliament.
Soon after she made this claim, the Congress party, which had planned to stage a sit-in protest outside the parliament, decided to call off the protest.
Swaraj has been in the eye of the storm over her links with the tainted former chief of the IPL, Lalit Modi. The Congress party has been gunning for her resignation.
Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said, “You must answer as to why help get a man travel documents, who was being investigated by the ED. Sushmaji is behaving like a child, who seems to blame everyone else when someone points out her fault.”
Congress and other opposition parties have made it clear that they will not let the parliament run if those BJP leaders involved in Lalitgate scandal and Vyapam scam didn’t resign.
The JDU’s KC Tyagi also renewed his demand for the resignations of all those accused in Lali Modi scandal and Vyapam scam.
