RSS to replace khakhi shorts with trousers to attract youth


The famous khakhi shorts worn by members of the RSS may soon become a thing of the past.

The Sangh is actively considering replacing shorts with trousers. The shorts, according to RSS sources, are failing to appeal the modern day youth.

The RSS will take a decision in this regard during its meeting Nagaur in Rajasthan on 11 March.

“A change in uniform is very much on the agenda  of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, the highest decision making body of the RSS when it meets in Nagaur in Rajasthan,” Manmohan Vidya of the RSS was quoted by PTI.

The RSS’ apex body had deliberated this issue in its 2010 meet but the matter deferred till 2015 in the absence of any consensus.

Vaidya said that the apex body may take a decision on the same in the upcoming meeting.

RSS members currently sport khaki shorts and white full- sleeve shirts folded up to the elbow, besides black caps, as part of their ‘ganvesh’.
