An RSS leader, identified as Chandrakant Sharma, was killed along with his PSO in Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. He was attacked by militants while working at Kishtwar district hospital.
According to earlier reports, Sharma was reported to have sustained minor injuries. But, Jammu and Kashmir’s BJP spokesperson Sunil Sethi told news agency ANI that Sharma had succumbed to his injuries.
This was after a group of suspected militants barged into the district hospital, where Sharma was working, and snatched the PSO’s weapon and fired at both of them. Authorities have imposed a curfew in the area.
Last year, in a similar incident, militants had shot dead BJP state secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit in Kishtwar district.
