Roads sprinkled with water in drought-hit areas before Karnataka CM’s visit


On Monday, at least one thousand litres of water was wasted on sprinkling the road in Bagalkot in Karnataka ahead of the state’s chief minister, Siddaramaiah’s visit to drought-hit area.

According to reports, the exercise was to make the roads dust-free for the chief minister.

This came less than a week after 10,000 litres of water was used for for the helipad of Maharashtra minister Eknath Khadse, when he visited the drought-hit Latur.

The video of of water tanker being used to sprinkle the roads has now gone viral.

Karnataka has been reeling under severe drought with many of its districts suffering from acute water shortages.
