Later they wielded a sword at his wife and vandalised the church.

They poured petrol on the pastor and his wife for refusing to say ‘Shri Ram ki Jai’, they somehow managed to escape and informed the police.

The police though arrived at the spot but couldn’t catch the attackers. An FIR was lodged against unknown people.

The president of the Chhattisgarh Christian Forum said that the attackers belonged to the nearby areas and finding them wouldn’t be so difficult.

He added,”We have firm belief that these type of elements get protection from Vishwa Hindu Parishad.”

He said,”Increasing attack on the Christians is part of the well-planned conspiracy, we condemned it and demanded impartial probe and speedy investigation in the case.”

This is the cond such incident targetting Christian community in the BJ-ruled state in as many months.

In March, alleged Bajrang Dal goons had vandalised a church in Chhattisgarh and torn female worshipers’ clothes.
