Ching’s Secret and Yash Raj Films with its brand ambassador Ranveer Singh, have lent support to Akshaya Patra Foundation and have embarked upon a new journey to fight hunger amongst school children.
A new campaign called India Ke Hunger Ki Bajao, which is a global fund-raising drive, encourages people to donate small amount of Rs. 750 to feed a child for a year.
To set the drive in motion, Ranveer Singh will personally sponsor mid-day meals for 10,000 children for a year. An advertisement has also been shot by YRF along with Bad Clown Productions, for the same. The heartwarming video clip features Singh playing with kids clad in school uniforms, while his voice-over explains how so much can be done with just Rs 750, an amount one usually spends on leisurely activities.
Donations can be made by visiting the official website www.hungerkibajao.com, wherein one can make contributions for kids for durations ranging from a month to 3 years and even for as little as Rs 3, the cost of a mid-day meal.
Ranveer Singh has been quoted on the website saying, “It gives me the most amount of joy to spread love, to spread happiness. There’s nothing better than to feed a child, to educate a child. I love kids! I tremendously feel for kids with an enthusiasm to study.”
As the campaign is soaring to success, Singh expressed his delight by in a tweet.
