Days after it emerged that a senior BJP minister in Maharashtra government was allegedly on Dawood Ibrahim’s most dialled list, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that India’s most wanted fugitive will be nabbed soon and brought to India.
Quoting excerpts from an ETV interview, ANI reported that the Union Minister did not provide any specific deadline to fulfill his government’s promise.
“Dawood will be nabbed soon. He will be brought back to India on any condition. He is an international terrorist. There is need to take the help of international agencies to nab him,” said Singh in an exclusive interview to ETV.
“All the relevant documents against Dawood have been given to Pakistan,” he added.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had earlier reiterated that it will continue to pursue Pakistan to handover Dawood after a television channel claimed that it has tracked his location.
The ruling BJP government at the Centre faced a huge embarrassment on Saturday as one of its senior ministers in Maharashtra government was accused of being on the ‘most dialled’ list of underworld don, Dawood Ibrahim.
AAP’s spokesperson, Preeti Sharma Menon had said, “Eknath Khadse lied about his phone being out of service. His number 9423073667 received several calls from Dawood Ibrahim’s wife Mehjabeen Shaikh’s number 021-35871639 between September 4 2015 to April 5, 2016.”
