Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj forced to react after Rahul Gandhi’s fiery speech in parliament

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s fiery speech in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday has evoked sharp reactions forcing the home minister and foreign minister to react.

External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj said, “Had I been there I would have given him an answer right then and there. When PM spoke to PM Sharif, he had called me after that to ask my opinion on him going to Lahore. I told PM that this will be a very ‘out of the box”‘ move and that he should go to Lahore. So what Rahul Gandhi has said is incorrect.”

Rahul on Wednesday had said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi didn’t believe in taking ‘even his cabinet’ colleagues into confidence on big issues affecting India.

He had alleged that Modi had gone to Lahore without informing any ministers.

Rahul had also alleged that Modi went ahead to sign the much-publicised Naga Peace Accord by keeping Home Minister Rajnath Singh in the dark.

jantakareporter.com had reported this exclusively on 26 February.

Singh accused Rahul of misleading the parliament.

He said, “Whatever Rahul Gandhi has said (about Naga accord) is completely baseless and I condemn it. He should not mislead the House.”

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley too took to Facebook and wrote a scathing blog criticising the Congress Vice President.

He said, “The Congress Vice-President, Shri Rahul Gandhi, has claimed that the Prime Minister hardly consults his senior Ministers. If Shri Rahul Gandhi is to be believed, then Smt. Sushma Swaraj is not consulted on the Pakistan policy, Shri Rajnath Singh was unware of the Nagaland accord and, presumably, I am unware of the Budget proposals.

“As one evolves from a young to a middle-aged one, we certainly expect a certain level of maturity. The more I hear Shri Rahul Gandhi, the more I start wondering ‘how much does he know – when will he know.'”

Rattled by Rahul’s charges, other BJP leaders too came to show their support for Modi and their leaders. She took offence to Rahul’s Fair and Lovely jibe for Modi referring to his failure to curb black money.

BJP MP, Meenakshi Lekhi said, “Congress should go back to 26/11,when their CM ws roaming around with a Film Dir & HM was going on changing clothes. ‘Dark & Ugly’ secrets and conspiracies hatched by Cong are coming out in open.”
