Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched another attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi by taking credit for far-loan waivers in Assam and Gujarat. He said that the Congress had ‘managed’ to wake up the chief ministers of Gujarat and Assam and it was time for PM to wake up too.
Gandhi wrote on Twitter, “The Congress party has managed to wake the CM’s of Assam & Gujarat from their deep slumber. PM is still asleep. We will wake him up too.”

The latest attack by Congress President against Modi came a day after he said that he will not let the prime minister sleep till he waived off farmers’ loans. His warning had come on the day two BJP-ruled governments in Assam and Gujarat announced waiving of farmers’ loans in their states. While the Assam government announced loan waiver of Rs 600 crore, which it said will benefit around 8 lakh farmers, the Gujarat government announced that it was waiving off Rs 600 crore in unpaid electricity bills as part of one-time settlement scheme.
Reacting to Gandhi’s latest tweet, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani wrote, “The Congress has won in three states after experiencing defeats in most of the country. This excitement of victory is evident from Rahul Gandhi’s tweet.”
देशभर में हारने वाली कांग्रेस बहुत समय के बाद तीन राज्यों में जीती है । इस जीत का अति उत्साह @RahulGandhi के ट्वीट में दिखता है ।

The Congress recently defeated the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan in the just-concluded assembly polls. The BJP was in government in all these states.
