Rahul Gandhi visits holy shrines of Kashmir

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, who was on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir paid respect at two holy shrines of Kashmir on Friday. Rahul  was accompanied by  the AICC General Secretary Ambika Soni and PCC Chief G. A. Mir, senior party leaders.

Rahul Gandhi first visited Tulmula Ganderbal  and paid obeisance at Kheer Bhawani temple. Later, he went to Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar too.

Kheer Bhawani temple is one of the oldest temples of Kashmiri pandits. Rahul Gandhi along with his other party workers observed prayers here for few minutes.

Congress Vice President also spent some time at Hazratbal Shrine and prayed for progress and development of the state and people. He also interacted with the local people and exchanged greetings, said a senior congress leader to Jantakareporter.com.

Former Prime Minister of India and Rahul’s grand mother, Indra Gandhi, had also visited the shrine of Hazrat Mukhdoom Sahab in Anantnag town in South Kashmir in 80s.
