“The brutal murder of two members of our Youth Congress family in Kasargod, Kerala is shocking. The Congress Party stands in solidarity with the families of these two young men & I send them my deepest condolences. We will not rest till the murderers are brought to justice,” Gandhi tweeted.

The two Congress workers, hacked to death in Kasargod on Sunday, have been identified as Kripesh and Sarath. According to police, the two Youth Congress workers were killed on Sunday evening at around 8 pm.

Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala blamed the ruling Left Front led by the CPI-M, which, according to him, was responsible for the murder of Kripesh and Sarath ahead of this year’s Lok Sabha polls. “The CPI(M) is trying to destroy the Congress party using the party goons. The youth congress activists were attacked without any provocation. They were not involved in any kind of criminal activities. No cases were there against them. The government should identify the culprits and arrest them as soon as possible,” Chennithala was quoted by India Today.

However, Gandhi did not choose to criticise the state government of the ruling party for the murder of his party workers.

The Kerala government has come under sharp criticism from the BJP for the alleged killings of its supporters in the state. BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party President Amit Shah have repeated slammed the Kerala government for the killings of RSS workers in the state.

  1. What about those men killed by congress last year in Kerala? And those BJP leaders killed in Bengal? Doesn’t Rahul have the courage to speak about them?
