Rafale scam: Gujarat court summons AAP MP Sanjay Singh in Rs 5,000 crore defamation case filed by Anil Ambani

A court in Gujarat has summoned the Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh, asking him to provide written submission in a Rs 5,000 crore defamation case filed by Anil Ambani. This was after Singh alleged scam in the purchase of Rafale jets from France by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The notice by Ahmedabad City and Sessions Court said, “Whereas the above named plainftiff has instituted a civil suit against you and subsequent to the order below N.M passed by Court I request you to provide written submission before the court on 20.10.2018 at 11.00 o’clock.”

In February, Singh had taken to Twitter to inform that Ambani had filed a Rs 5,000 crore defamation case against him. The AAP Rajya Sabha MP had written, “The hooliganism of industrialists is on the rise. First they will commit scam, then file a defamation case against those who will raise their voices against the scam. Anil Ambani has sent me the biggest ever notice of Rs 5,000 crore for highlighting the scam in the Rafale jets deal. Such threats will not work.”

Ambani is facing serious allegations of having benefited from his friendship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in becoming the Indian offset partner of the French aviation company Dassault. Several documents have now emerged that conclusively proved that Modi had made it mandatory to make Anil Ambani’s company as the Indian partner to secure the deal worth Rs 58,000 crore.

Janta Ka Reporter in its three part series last had first exposed the scam in the purchase of Rafale jets from the French company Dassault aviation.  (You can read them here Part 1 and Part 2 and Part 3).
